Role overview
Qatar Airways is looking for a Supplier Compliance Specialist to support its Catering Services function and help protect the quality, safety, and integrity of its worldwide supplier network. In this position, you will oversee supplier audits, review regulatory and food safety compliance, and contribute to the delivery of the Supplier Assurance Strategy. The role covers key areas such as manufacturing standards, quality systems, halal compliance, security, and material controls, with the aim of ensuring suppliers meet the expectations of a leading global airline.
You will work with internal teams, external suppliers, regulators, and cross-functional partners to strengthen compliance, support continuous improvement, and uphold Qatar Airways’ standards of excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Run supplier risk reviews and carry out compliance audits across the global supply chain.
- Check supplier certifications, food safety controls, halal conformity, and regulatory obligations.
- Track manufacturing and quality practices, including product sampling and AQL checks.
- Spot underperforming vendors and suggest corrective and preventive actions.
- Draft thorough audit reports and assist with compliance-related due diligence defense.
- Help design product recall procedures and participate in required testing.
- Prepare annual Compliance and Quality Assurance reports and keep audit records current.
- Partner with Procurement, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Catering teams to embed compliance into operations.
- Take part in vendor onboarding, supplier briefings, and technical assessments.
- Analyze supplier performance and identify risk trends using data-driven insights.
- Support food safety policy implementation and environmental management objectives.
- Assist during emergencies or major operational disruptions when needed.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the Head of Department that relate to this role.
What the role requires
- A High School Diploma or Vocational Qualification, or a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 4 years of experience in food safety, quality management, and compliance.
- Hands-on experience with quality assurance programs and supplier audit activity.
- Working knowledge of halal requirements, food sampling methods, and AQL standards.
- Strong ability to analyze data, including use of Microsoft Office tools and Power BI.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Capability to stay effective under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and work independently.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and support others.
