Role overview
This is a full-time secondment/fixed-term opportunity through to 5 March 2027, based at the Ōtepoti site in Dunedin, Otago. The position offers a starting salary in the range of $111,020 to $133,696, with the final amount depending on experience.
In this role, you will support work with tamariki and whānau to help create positive change in the community. The team operates from a whānau-led approach, placing emphasis on awhi and mana-enhancing support for families.
About the role
You will lead, guide, and supervise a team of social workers across the Ōtepoti area. The team works alongside Iwi and other public, private, and community-based organisations to support tamariki and whānau, so strong relationship-building skills are essential.
A key part of the role is identifying professional development needs within the team and making sure staff are supported to strengthen capability and deepen practice. You will also manage workflow and help ensure timely, well-considered decisions.
Your work must align with the values, Practice Framework, Principles, and Standards of Oranga Tamariki. You will also work collaboratively with peer supervisors across the region and with the wider leadership team, recognising the operational impact of the role.
