About the Role
This position is with St. Regis Hotels & Resorts in Doha, Qatar, within the Food & Beverage and Culinary function. It is a full-time, non-management role based at The Pearl Island. The hotel is part of Marriott International’s luxury portfolio and is known for delivering highly attentive, personalized guest service.
What You’ll Do
You will help ensure the team works in sync so guests receive excellent service and their needs are handled promptly. The role involves supporting daily outlet operations, maintaining service standards, and assisting with people management tasks.
- Keep the team aligned and focused on delivering smooth service.
- Check staff grooming and appearance and correct any issues.
- Handle opening and closing duties, including setup, cleaning, equipment care, and securing the area.
- Review storage spaces for orderliness, FIFO compliance, and cleanliness.
- Track inventory, complete routine stock counts, and request needed supplies.
- Monitor dining areas for seat availability, guest comfort, safety, and overall wellbeing.
- Raise maintenance work orders when repairs are needed.
- Support hiring, training, scheduling, performance reviews, coaching, counseling, and discipline.
- Act as a role model and the first contact for the company’s fair treatment and open-door process.
- Follow company policies, safety rules, and security procedures, and report incidents or unsafe conditions.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat professional appearance, protect confidential information, and safeguard company property.
- Welcome guests warmly, anticipate service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and interact with genuine courtesy.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and guests.
- Build positive working relationships and contribute to shared goals.
- Listen carefully to concerns and respond appropriately.
- Meet quality standards and suggest practical improvements in efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost control.
- Read information accurately, including small print, and visually inspect tools and equipment for defects.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and perform physical tasks during the shift.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Handle objects of different sizes and weights with good manual dexterity and coordination.
- Work in narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and move on stairs or service ramps.
- Bend, twist, reach overhead and below the knees, and perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
