Super Yacht Deckhand

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and professional Deckhand to become part of our superyacht team, residing onboard a private or charter yacht in Dubai. This full-time, live-in role reports directly to the First Officer or Captain. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the yacht's exterior impeccably, assisting with deck operations, delivering outstanding guest services, and ensuring safety standards are met. A positive attitude, strong commitment to work, and teamwork skills are essential.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain the exterior by washing, chamoising, polishing, waxing, and detailing all surfaces.
• Care for teak decks, stainless steel components, paintwork, and brightwork.
• Clean and upkeep tenders and water sports equipment when necessary.
• Assist in both routine and preventative maintenance and promptly report any defects.
• Support docking, anchoring, mooring, and line handling operations.
• Stand navigational and anchor watches as required, and prepare the yacht for departure and after arrival.
• Help with passage preparations and sea-going tasks.
• Provide exceptional guest assistance including boarding, luggage handling, and water activities support.
• Operate water toys and tenders safely, maintaining professionalism and discretion.
• Engage in emergency drills and safety trainings while aiding safety equipment maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with ISM, MARPOL, and internal safety protocols.
• Support interior crew duties, provision loading, inventory management, and perform additional duties assigned by senior officers.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Possession of valid STCW Basic Safety Training and ENG1 Medical Certificate or equivalent.
• Valid passport required.
• Powerboat Level 2 certification preferred; tender driving experience is advantageous.
• Previous yachting experience preferred, though candidates from maritime or hospitality sectors with strong qualifications may be considered.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
