About the Project

The Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy department at Freie Universität Berlin is conducting a DFG-funded research study focused on preventing depression relapse through everyday physical activity supported by a smartphone app. This 12-month study concentrates on risk factors and motivational elements crucial for the success or failure of the movement-oriented intervention. The preventive approach emphasizes integrating into participants' everyday lives, including home visits in Berlin.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting participant inclusion procedures: study briefing, diagnostics, and managing short experimental trials
• Implementing a psychology-based manualized intervention to increase motivation and physical activity
• Visiting participants at home within the Berlin area
• Performing follow-up telephone interviews for progress diagnostics
• General support in study coordination and execution, such as handling the receipt and dispatch of activity sensors and data entry

Additional Duties

• Recruiting study participants within clinical settings collaborating on psychotherapeutic services in Berlin
• Providing telephone support to participants addressing app usage and technical issues

Candidate Profile

• Enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or Clinical Psychology
• Interest in clinical psychological research
• Interest or personal experience with physical activity or sports
• Preferably experience in conducting interviews or managing study processes
• Empathy and confidence in interpersonal communication
• Thoroughness in executing study procedures according to protocol
• Willingness to learn about Android smartphone technical issues and solutions
• Availability and flexibility regarding timing and locations for participant appointments
