Job description
About the Project
The project "Landscape Archaeology in Thessaly" (LAiT) is hosted at the Institute for Prehistoric Archaeology and conducted in cooperation with the Antiquities Service in Thessaly, Greece. This position is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and is available as a student assistant role limited until the project's conclusion.
Responsibilities
- Data processing and management within a Geographic Information System (GIS).
- Participation in spatial analyses and creation of maps using QGIS software.
- Maintenance and updating of the project's internal Access database.
Requirements
- Enrolled student in a relevant discipline such as Prehistoric Archaeology, Landscape Archaeology, or Geosciences.
- Proficient use of standard software, database applications, and especially QGIS.
- Experience with field survey or excavation activities and willingness to engage in field research.
- Possession of a valid Class B driving license.
- Ability to work independently with reliability and dedication.
- Good teamwork and collaboration skills.
