Overview
The Student Affairs Officer at Batterjee Medical College plays an essential role in enriching the student experience beyond academics. This role encompasses offering support services, orchestrating extracurricular programs, advocating student welfare, and ensuring adherence to student policies aligned with the College and Saudi higher education standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for students seeking assistance with non-academic issues.
- Organize and facilitate orientation and onboarding for new students.
- Advise students about their rights, responsibilities, institutional policies, and available support mechanisms.
- Refer students to appropriate counseling or administrative resources as needed.
- Manage and escalate complaints, appeals, and concerns following established protocols.
- Promote a supportive and inclusive campus atmosphere contributing to student well-being.
- Plan and manage student events, clubs, campaigns, and community service initiatives.
- Motivate student involvement in volunteering, cultural, social, and recreational engagements.
- Support student organizations in event execution and maintain an annual calendar of activities aligned with college goals.
- Keep confidential records of student cases, behavior issues, and attendance follow-ups.
- Process student requests efficiently within policy guidelines.
- Collaborate across departments including Academic Affairs, Admissions, Finance, HR, and IT on student-related matters.
- Prepare reports and documentation for Student Affairs activities, supporting quality assurance and accreditation.
- Implement and uphold the Student Code of Conduct, assisting with disciplinary procedures under guidance.
- Communicate policies, activities, updates, and student feedback effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify trends in student concerns and inform management accordingly.
- Liaise with external entities to enhance student services and experiences.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Have 1 to 3 years of experience in student affairs, engagement, or administrative roles preferably in higher education.
- Prior experience with university or college student populations is desirable.
- Knowledge of the Saudi Arabian higher education landscape and student affairs practices is a plus.
- Must be a Saudi National.
