Role overview
Shopee’s Operations function focuses on solving problems and launching practical improvements that make the platform easier to use for buyers, sellers, and partners. The team works at the center of the business, partnering with different departments to run end-to-end e-commerce processes and design scalable solutions across multiple markets. A strong emphasis is placed on understanding the fundamentals, then using that understanding to improve policies, processes, and product features for better operational and product performance.
The broader Operations organization includes core marketplace functions such as Customer Service, Listings, Payments, Seller Operations, Returns & Refunds, and Fraud.
About the role
This position contributes to shaping strategic direction, leading high-impact work, and strengthening operational capabilities across the region. You will collaborate with regional stakeholders in different areas to evaluate current approaches, build action plans, and help execute initiatives that support long-term growth.
The role suits someone who blends strategic thinking with disciplined execution: a structured problem-solver who can break down complex issues into workable solutions and deliver measurable outcomes across teams.
What you'll do
- Review and improve strategies, operating processes, and performance measurement approaches for regional operations, including cost models and workforce planning for several thousand employees across functions.
- Carry out market research and detailed data analysis to generate insights that support business planning.
- Partner with teams across the organisation to shape go-to-market plans, test assumptions, and improve performance.
- Work with senior stakeholders to align priorities and convert broad strategic goals into practical execution plans.
- Drive and support initiatives spanning people, process, and technology.
- Track implementation results and adjust methods to improve impact.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects that contribute to continuous improvement and long-term growth.
What we're looking for
We are seeking candidates with at least 2 years of experience in a top-tier strategy consulting firm. You should have a demonstrated history of building and implementing business strategies, as well as managing complex projects or programs.
Strong analytical ability is essential, along with the skill to turn data into actionable strategic recommendations. You should also be comfortable working through ambiguity and tackling unstructured problems while maintaining both a big-picture view and a sharp eye for detail.
Success in this role also requires strong collaboration, the ability to influence stakeholders across functions, and a genuine motivation to make an impact in a fast-moving environment.
