About the Role
Join Air New Zealand as a Strategy and Networks Specialist to influence the airline's future routes, growth strategies, and network value for both customers and the business. This role sits at the crossroads of commercial strategy, aviation, and enterprise planning and plays a crucial role in steering the decisions of New Zealand's national airline.
As part of the Network Strategy team, you will integrate choices about routes and capacity with overall enterprise goals, spanning areas such as profitability, fleet management, customer offerings, alliances, and operational robustness. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in crafting the airline's long-term network strategy by pinpointing areas where growth will maximize enterprise value.
- Assess the strategic appeal of various markets, regions, and customer flow patterns using commercial, operational, and competitive data.
- Create detailed analyses and scenario models to guide network strategy and long-term planning decisions.
- Collaborate across business units to ensure network strategies align with fleet, operations, customer experience, alliances, cargo, and commercial goals.
- Translate network analysis insights into concrete recommendations supporting overall enterprise and financial planning.
- Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activity, and industry changes to spot opportunities and risks influencing network priorities.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in strategy, network planning, aviation, consulting, commercial analysis or related areas.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting complex data and recommending actionable strategies.
- Strong commercial insight with an understanding of how strategic choices drive long-term business value.
- Proficiency in data handling, scenario modelling, and strategic planning to support business decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to foster trusted relationships across teams.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, able to present sophisticated concepts clearly and engagingly.
- Curious, proactive, collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for tackling complex business challenges.
