Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist in the United States, presented on behalf of a partner employer that handles the application review and next steps. The role supports a mission-driven organization by strengthening a sourcing and procurement function that is efficient, transparent, and cost-conscious.

You will oversee sourcing work from start to finish, including RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and vendor selection across areas such as services, facilities, and IT. The position calls for strong analytical judgment, supplier evaluation skills, and a solid understanding of compliance requirements.

You’ll partner with internal teams to clarify needs, shape sourcing approaches, and help move contracts through execution. A major part of the job is managing vendor relationships, negotiating commercial terms, and monitoring supplier performance over time.

In addition, you will help maintain procurement compliance, support audit preparedness, and improve sourcing workflows. This is a collaborative role that contributes directly to operational effectiveness and service quality across the organization.

Accountabilities

  • Own sourcing activities end to end, including RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and competitive bid processes across several spend categories.
  • Work with internal partners to collect requirements, define scope, and set the criteria used to assess suppliers.
  • Review vendor submissions, negotiate pricing and contract conditions, and assist in choosing the best supplier options.
  • Create, issue, and maintain procurement files, contracts, and sourcing records in a structured, audit-ready manner.
  • Track supplier performance and work with business stakeholders to resolve service level issues.
  • Monitor contract end dates, coordinate renewals, and help re-open sourcing when a rebid is needed.
  • Follow internal procurement policies, applicable regulatory obligations, and funding-related guidelines.
  • Support audits and reporting by keeping accurate logs, dashboards, and procurement documentation.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, finance, or a similar discipline is preferred.
  • At least 2 to 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or purchasing, ideally in healthcare, nonprofit, government-funded, or comparable settings.
  • Hands-on experience managing RFP and RFQ activity, supplier negotiations, and the contract lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical and organizational capability, with careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Experience using ERP or procurement platforms such as Oracle is an advantage.
  • Clear communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage with broad support.
  • Paid time off plus paid holidays.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan.
  • Tuition assistance and support for professional growth.
  • Flexible schedule with mostly remote work arrangements.
  • Paid onboarding and training, plus pathways for career growth.
  • Access to earned wage options / on-demand pay.
  • A supportive, purpose-driven environment centered on impact and development.

Additional information

This role is posted through a partner arrangement, and the partner company manages applications as well as the following hiring steps. The application may be reviewed using automated matching tools to identify candidates whose background aligns with the role’s core needs. Shortlisted profiles are shared with the hiring employer, and final hiring decisions, interviews, and assessments are handled by their internal team.

By submitting an application, candidates acknowledge that personal data may be processed to assess candidacy and share relevant details with the employer. This processing may rely on legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures where permitted by applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. Candidates may exercise rights such as access, correction, deletion, and objection at any time.

Automated tools may also be used to support parts of the recruitment workflow, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or checking responses for inconsistencies or verification signals. These tools assist the recruitment team but do not replace human judgment, and final decisions are made by people.

The role is based in the United States and is primarily remote, with a flexible work schedule and mostly remote arrangements.
