Job description

About Dreem Health by Sunrise

Dreem Health is the U.S. leader in digital sleep care. Using Sunrise's technology, the company simplifies the sleep-care journey by offering home-based testing, telehealth consultations with experts, and individualized treatment plans that patients can actually follow. The goal is to remove long waits and avoid unnecessary in-lab studies so more people can access care from the comfort of home and on their own schedule.

About Sunrise Group

Sunrise was created to address one of healthcare's major gaps: sleep care that is slow, confusing, and inconsistently available. Starting from research on mandibular jaw movement, the company developed a chin-based sleep test that transformed at-home diagnosis of sleep disorders. That innovation has grown into a broader sleep-health platform that combines advanced diagnostic and treatment tools with care delivered to patients' homes through Dreem Health across all 50 U.S. states.

With a team of 100+ clinicians, engineers, and operators across the U.S. and Europe, Sunrise is focused on making high-quality sleep care available to everyone. Supported by more than $50M in funding, the company is working to help the 1+ billion people worldwide who still do not receive the sleep care they need.

Role Overview

Sleep apnea impacts over 30 million Americans, and most cases remain undiagnosed. Many high-risk patients pass through cardiology clinics or hospital systems without ever being directed to care. Dreem Health is changing that through a telehealth-first sleep medicine platform that provides virtual diagnosis, treatment, and continuing care in all 50 states.

As the Director of Strategic Partnerships, you will not be maintaining an existing referral pipeline. Instead, you will create the channels that have not yet been built: integrated care pathways within health systems, multi-site cardiology groups, and specialty organizations that can become major long-term growth drivers for Dreem Health. You will own the full partnership lifecycle, including prospecting, deal design, negotiation, launch, and ongoing activation, while reporting to the VP of Business Development & Strategy.

This position is suited to someone who approaches healthcare as a system, sells through clinical evidence, and defines success by patient access and repeatable referral volume rather than by meeting count. If you have previously built enterprise healthcare channels from the ground up and want to do it again in a mission-led organization with strong momentum, this role is designed for you.

Responsibilities

  • Build and oversee strategic partnerships across health systems, integrated delivery networks, hospital networks, and complex provider groups that generate referrals and support long-term integration.
  • Design care-management programs that encourage repeated referrals and strengthen the value created for enterprise partners.
  • Take ownership of strategic accounts from initial identification through launch and expansion, including planning, stakeholder coordination, implementation, and ongoing performance tracking.
  • Develop partnership strategies that support Dreem Health's business priorities and long-range growth goals.
  • Research the market and assess potential partners to find, prioritize, and pursue high-value growth opportunities aligned with channel strategy or newly identified opportunities.
  • Lead partner sourcing, evaluation, deal structuring, and negotiations to expand referral volume through scalable integrated pathways for sleep apnea diagnosis, treatment start, and long-term management.
  • Work cross-functionally, as needed, with Clinical Operations, VP Provider Partnerships Territory Managers, Product, Marketing, and Analytics to ensure smooth execution.
  • Create governance and performance-management systems for enterprise partnerships, including KPIs, dashboards, business reviews, and growth plans.
  • Anticipate and address risks, dependencies, and operational barriers that could affect launch, adoption, or sustained performance.
  • Convert market insights and partner feedback into better partnership models, improved commercial playbooks, stronger workflows, and scalable growth approaches.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in healthcare business development, strategic partnerships, or health-system sales, with a proven record of negotiating, launching, and growing complex healthcare deals.
  • Demonstrated success in building senior-level relationships within health systems, IDNs, hospital networks, and sophisticated specialty provider groups; an existing network in these channels is a plus.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to evaluate partnership opportunities in the context of broader company strategy; experience with digital health platforms and modern healthcare delivery models is important.
  • Solid understanding of the healthcare environment, including reimbursement structures, regulatory considerations, and competitive dynamics; experience in sleep medicine or related fields such as cardiology, pulmonology, or metabolic health is preferred.
  • Ability to speak with physician leaders, including CMOs and KOLs, about clinical outcomes rather than only commercial terms; understanding how sleep disorders affect cardiovascular, metabolic, and broader outcomes is a meaningful advantage.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, resource-limited environment where you create playbooks, close deals without large support teams, and adapt quickly when priorities shift.
  • Strong interest in sleep health and expanding access to care; a bachelor's degree is required, and an MBA or advanced clinical degree is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Work that has a direct and meaningful impact on people's lives.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with an international team spanning the U.S., France, and Belgium.
  • Annual team offsite.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Free One Medical membership.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • 20 days of PTO, 10 paid holidays, and 80 hours of paid sick leave.
  • Monthly phone and internet stipend.

Compensation

The base salary for this position is $140,000 to $160,000, depending on experience. Total on-target earnings include the base pay plus an annual bonus opportunity.

Values and Hiring Approach

Sunrise Group values clarity and simplicity, trust and collaboration, and optimism and compassion. The company emphasizes hiring people who are curious, resourceful, and ready to contribute, even if they do not meet every single requirement. Candidates who are excited about building something new in healthcare are encouraged to apply.

Equal Opportunity

Dreem Health / Sunrise is an equal opportunity employer. The company welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and is committed to maintaining an inclusive and respectful workplace free from discrimination and harassment.
