About the Role

Avantor, a prominent global supplier catering to the life sciences and advanced tech sectors, is seeking a Strategic Partner Director. This senior, client-facing leader will oversee enterprise-wide engagements, driving Avantor's growth across global strategic accounts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or the Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of global customer relationships, serving as the primary accountability contact and building executive partnerships across regions.
  • Boost commercial success by identifying growth opportunities and orchestrating strategic account plans focused on revenue, margin, and wallet share expansion.
  • Manage contract compliance and performance from start to finish, ensuring adherence to terms and pricing.
  • Develop and implement multi-year customer improvement plans with defined priorities, responsibilities, timelines, and measurable goals.
  • Maintain a strong in-person presence with clients (~25% travel), including site visits and quarterly business reviews to nurture trust with stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional global account teams to align strategies and execution, fostering collaboration among all involved parties.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and partners to optimize customer value by integrating capabilities, encouraging innovation, and maintaining supply chain reliability.
  • Ensure disciplined delivery of commitments, timely communication, and proactive resolution of issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and leverage digital innovations to create measurable business and customer benefits.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is a minimum requirement.
  • 7 to 10 years of proven commercial experience in life sciences or related industries, including managing global strategic accounts within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong commercial and financial expertise, encompassing pricing strategies, margin management, contract oversight, and enterprise account planning.
  • Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement, influence across global teams, data analysis, and using insights to support strategic decisions.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; additional European languages are advantageous.
