The Strategic Buyer role at Rolls-Royce involves leading Defense purchasing strategies across multiple commodities while managing supplier sourcing and negotiations. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial negotiations to secure optimal value for the company.
  • Develop and implement Defense commodity strategies.
  • Forge and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Discover and engage new suppliers to build sustainable partnerships aligned with Defense program goals.
  • Construct and utilize cost models for specified commodities and represent the Defense Supply Chain Unit within internal stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborate with supplier management teams to resolve major contract issues swiftly and effectively.

Candidate Profile

  • An associate degree plus a minimum of 4 years purchasing experience, or
  • A bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of purchasing experience, or
  • A master’s degree, or
  • A JD or PhD, or
  • At least 6 years of purchasing experience if no degree is held.

Additionally, candidates must be U.S. citizens. Preferred experience includes commercial negotiations and backgrounds in operations, procurement, or logistics.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary ranges between $84,351 and $137,071, with eligibility for bonuses and relief assistance. The benefits package encompasses health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans with company matching, paid time off, holidays, parental and family care leave, tuition reimbursement, and a long-term incentive plan.

Working Arrangement

This hybrid role expects a flexible approach with at least three days per week in the workplace for collaboration and other duties. Relocation support is available if applicable.
