Role overview
This position is responsible for steering the Mediterranean and CIS cargo market by leading Etihad’s in-house team in line with the cargo commercial and operational plan. The role focuses on delivering stronger results through clear goals, active coaching, and ongoing performance improvement. It also requires strict adherence to safety, security, quality, health, and environmental standards to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with ground handling and cargo terminal partners to deliver high-quality service and ensure compliance with Etihad Cargo standards.
- Apply KPI and SLA tools to monitor service delivery against EYCC benchmarks and required performance levels.
- Contribute to the budgeting cycle and help prevent financial exposure or bad debt, while ensuring CASS compliance wherever applicable.
- Support the rollout and adoption of iCargo, self-service options, direct booking features, and e-Airway Bill processes.
- Drive execution of the cargo commercial strategy for the assigned market and customer portfolio.
- Coordinate, lead, and guide the team to meet targets aligned with strategy and budget expectations.
- Create and execute country, area, and account plans that improve revenue, load factor, yield, and product mix.
- Manage a portfolio of customer contracts in line with Etihad Cargo’s segmentation approach and commercial direction.
- Oversee local sales, reservations, and customer service performance to expand market reach and revenue potential.
- Build and sustain customer relationships across global key accounts, regional key accounts, and local accounts where relevant.
- Control sales costs, coach the team, and improve effectiveness and coverage through Salesforce-based performance monitoring.
- Gather market intelligence, share feedback with headquarters, and act on opportunities and risks with practical response plans.
Requirements
- A diploma of at least two years’ duration, a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 7 years of professional experience, including exposure to the cargo market and strong customer understanding.
- Deep familiarity with the Mediterranean and CIS cargo markets is required.
- Strong commercial cargo experience is essential.
- Working knowledge of GHA and warehouse handling processes is needed.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
