About the Role
Join The Village Bakery Group, a family-run craft bakery established in 1964, renowned for producing premium bread, morning goods, pies, and gluten-free products. We're key suppliers to nationwide retailers like M&S, Tesco, and Sainsbury's and invest heavily in quality, food safety, and staff development.
Responsibilities
- Receiving and inspecting incoming deliveries of ingredients, packaging, and materials for quality and accurate documentation.
- Correctly storing items in assigned warehouse locations and maintaining stock accuracy via counts and system records.
- Ensuring stock rotation follows FIFO principles and that all items remain traceable.
- Picking and distributing materials to production lines aligned with daily plans.
- Supporting internal stock movements in both ambient and chilled storage areas.
- Keeping the warehouse tidy, organized, and compliant with safety and food hygiene standards (GMP, HACCP).
- Collaborating closely with Production, Technical, and Supply Chain teams to meet operational demands.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in warehouse, stores, or logistics roles, preferably within food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Meticulous attention to detail and adherence to protocols.
- Understanding of inventory control and stock rotation.
- Ability to adapt and perform in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- Strong communication and team cooperation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift Truck (FLT) license (Counterbalance or Reach).
- Experience with warehouse management or stock systems.
- Familiarity with Food Safety, GMP, or HACCP standards.
- Background in bakery or chilled food manufacturing environments.
