Job description
Overview
This position, reporting to the Customer Service Manager, focuses on managing daily warehouse tasks including receiving, storage, and issuing of goods alongside other inventory control activities. The role requires operation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), such as hand pallet jacks and forklifts, with forklift operation restricted to certified personnel.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage the movement of goods inside the warehouse using hand pallet jacks or forklifts according to instructions.
- Ensure accurate sorting of items upon delivery before placement into designated storage bins according to Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Handle removal, stacking, and organization of empty pallets both inside and outside the warehouse.
- Complete pick slip orders accurately and obtain necessary signatures.
- Adhere to best warehouse practices during stock picking and preparation for dispatch.
- Follow all SOP instructions from Customer Service Officers and management strictly and maintain precise documentation throughout operations.
- Maintain accuracy and demonstrate competency across all warehouse functions.
- Show initiative and propose operational improvements.
- Exhibit teamwork, flexibility, and adaptiveness especially under pressure.
- Maintain comprehensive awareness of the ongoing warehouse processes.
- Ensure cleanliness and order in the warehouse after inbound and outbound operations including labeling and coding activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Customer Service Manager to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Inventory Control and Reporting
- Assist with regular physical inventory checks (full and cycle counts) and collaborate with the Inventory team to resolve discrepancies.
- Report any irregularities to the Customer Service Manager within 24 hours.
- Provide precise records of physical stock holdings when required.
Warehousing Standards and Safety
- Conduct all warehouse processes in compliance with client SOPs and Service Level Agreements.
- Maintain Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) including proper stock safety, storage conditions, and temperature control.
- Support cleanliness, security, and protection of company assets, preventing careless damage or fraud.
- Promote and adhere to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) policies including active participation in related meetings and implementation of agreed actions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary school certificate (SSCE or O' Level).
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems.
- Knowledge of warehouse receiving and dispatch workflows.
- Experience with batch management and customer service.
- Certification required for forklift operation; only certified forklift operators may operate forklifts.
