About the Role

SWOP seeks a dynamic Store Director to lead both its flagship store in Brisbane's James St precinct and the non-profit PRISE Op Shop in West End. This unique position combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, driving growth in the fashion circular economy while championing sustainability, responsibility, and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth and ensure profitability by analyzing retail performance metrics and applying effective strategies.
  • Lead and mentor a dedicated team of over 15 employees, including Sales Associates, Buyers, and two Assistant Managers, fostering professional development.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, prioritizing customer satisfaction in all interactions and embedding the customer perspective in decision-making.
  • Collaborate with senior buying to maintain optimal inventory mix and stock levels.
  • Partner with marketing to generate store-related social media content and promotions, enhancing the brand’s omnichannel presence.
  • Utilize digital tools to strengthen relationships with loyal customers and sellers.
  • Embed SWOP’s core values—quality, inclusivity, integrity, and connectivity—into all leadership decisions and store activities.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years in senior retail leadership positions, managing multiple departments.
  • Proven success in meeting and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  • Strong team leadership skills with experience in staff development.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced retail environments.
  • Passion for sustainability and commitment to driving positive change through work.
