Overview
Working as a Stockperson/Cartpusher at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills within the retail sector. The role involves gathering shopping carts from various locations such as cart corrals, the parking lot, and the store perimeter, and returning them to a designated secure area, all while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect shopping carts from designated areas following Walmart's approved procedures, ensuring proper completion of related logs.
- Provide prompt assistance at registers and support customers by helping with carry-outs and carry-ins while verifying purchase receipts.
- Perform occasional cleaning and maintenance duties including restroom upkeep, proper chemical handling with correct disposal methods, and operate power equipment safely with completed inspection reports.
- Follow safety protocols and emergency guidelines, including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout procedures, and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
- Maintain accurate Cart Retrieval Logs at the Customer Service Desk.
- Promote and contribute to a workplace environment that is safe, clean, and free of hazards in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure personal safety by wearing required protective gear such as steel-toe footwear and reflective vests for visibility during cart collection.
- Conduct safety sweeps as required to maintain compliance with safety standards.
Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75, with this rate also applicable in French-speaking contexts.
