Role Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher at Walmart Canada, you contribute significantly to maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming shopping environment. Your primary duties will involve collecting shopping carts from various store areas and returning them to appropriate storage following company guidelines. You will engage positively with customers and uphold safety standards, supporting smooth daily store operations while developing teamwork, retail, and customer service skills.

Key Duties

• Retrieve carts from cart corrals, parking lot, and store perimeter, safely returning them to designated areas using approved methods and maintaining accurate logs.
• Respond promptly to requests from registers and Customer Service, including assisting customers with carrying items and verifying purchase receipts when necessary.
• Perform occasional cleaning and maintenance tasks such as restroom upkeep, adhering to safety protocols for chemicals, waste disposal, and operation of power equipment; complete equipment checks before use.
• Strictly follow all safety and emergency procedures, including handling hazardous materials, lockout/tagout processes, and bloodborne pathogen guidelines.
• Wear mandatory personal protective equipment like steel-toe footwear and reflective vests, regularly conduct safety sweeps, and comply with company policies to foster a safe work environment.
• Be flexible to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs and ensure consistent customer service.

Challenges

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially overnight shifts, by maintaining energy and concentration.
• Perform physically demanding activities like standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 50 lbs.
• Conduct repetitive tasks such as stocking and zoning with attention to detail to uphold the store's standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $16.90.
