The role of Stockperson / Cartpusher is essential in maintaining a secure, orderly, and inviting shopping environment for customers. The individual is tasked with retrieving shopping carts from designated cart corrals, parking lots, and the store perimeter, then returning them to specified storage areas while following Walmart's approved techniques. Through courteous customer service and a focus on safety, this position supports smooth store functionality and helps develop competencies in retail, teamwork, and customer interaction.

Primary Responsibilities

• Gather shopping carts from various locations including cart corrals, parking lots, and store edges, returning them to storage areas safely following company protocols and ensuring accurate completion of required logs.
• Respond quickly to requests from registers and customer service stations, assisting shoppers with carrying items in or out and checking receipts to verify purchases as necessary.
• Undertake periodic cleaning and maintenance tasks such as restroom upkeep, adhering to safety guidelines for chemical use, proper waste disposal, and safe operation of powered tools; perform mandatory equipment checks prior to use.
• Comply with safety and emergency procedures including hazardous material communication, lockout/tagout systems, and bloodborne pathogen protocols to ensure a secure environment for both customers and staff.
• Maintain a hazard-free workplace by utilizing personal protective equipment like steel-toe shoes and reflective vests, conducting safety inspections as needed, and adhering to company safety policies.
• Exhibit schedule flexibility by working various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet operational requirements and maintain consistent customer service.

Work Challenges and Physical Demands

• Manage high volume and fast-paced tasks, particularly during overnight shifts, while maintaining energy and concentration.
• Handle physical duties such as standing for long periods, bending, lifting inventory or equipment weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs, and performing repetitive actions like product stocking and zoning with attention to detail and uniformity.

Compensation

This position's starting wage is $17.75 per hour.
