Position Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you play a vital role in ensuring a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for customers. Your main responsibility is to gather shopping carts from parking areas, cart corrals, and store perimeters, then return them to designated spots following approved protocols. Through courteous interaction with customers and a dedicated focus on safety, you support efficient store operations while developing retail, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts from parking lots, cart corrals, and store surroundings, returning them safely to assigned storage areas using company-approved methods, and complete necessary logs accurately.
• Respond efficiently to requests from registers and Customer Service staff, assist customers with carry-ins and carry-outs, and verify purchase receipts when needed.
• Perform occasional cleaning and maintenance tasks including restroom upkeep, handling chemicals and power equipment safely according to guidelines, and conducting equipment inspections before use.
• Adhere strictly to all safety and emergency procedures including hazardous material communication, lockout/tagout processes, and bloodborne pathogen protocols to maintain a secure environment for customers and staff.
• Promote workplace safety by using prescribed personal protective equipment such as steel-toe shoes and reflective vests, completing safety inspections, and following company safety policies.
• Maintain flexibility in work schedule by being available for various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure smooth store operations and consistent customer service.

Challenges

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting, including overnight shifts, by planning to sustain energy and focus.
• Handle physically demanding activities such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting inventory or supplies up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive duties like stocking, zoning, and organizing merchandise with meticulous attention to maintain store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.40.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
