Role Overview

The Stock Controller will oversee the procurement and restocking of retail merchandise, ensuring product availability while adhering to budgetary constraints. This role demands diligent inventory management and maintaining optimal stock levels.

Key Duties

  • Maintain and update all inventory and stock control systems accurately, ensuring compliance with set parameters.
  • Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders for quantity, condition, and model accuracy, completing all requisite documentation.
  • Track all stock inflows and outflows, keeping detailed logs to reconcile with transfer records.
  • Keep inventory within preset stock level guidelines, scan and monitor received and dispatched stock, promptly reporting discrepancies.
  • Notify the store manager when inventory approaches or exceeds budget limits.
  • Manage stock returns procedure, designate specific storage areas for returns, expired, damaged, and unsalable items.
  • Organize and maintain appropriate storage space in the storeroom, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Supervise adherence to health and safety protocols within the storage facility.
  • Collaborate with store operations staff to prepare lists of damaged goods, facilitating their scanning, packaging, and transfer to the warehouse upon approval.
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts as per system reports and assist with the annual comprehensive physical inventory check.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess between 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of one year in a comparable Stock Controller position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of products and product categories, particularly within retail.
  • Experience within the retail sector is essential.
