About Wynn Al Marjan Island
Wynn Al Marjan Island is set to become the UAE's first integrated resort, opening in 2027. Located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in Ras Al Khaimah, this resort will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 diverse dining venues including restaurants, lounges, and bars, as well as a theatre and beach club. Other amenities include multiple pools, water features, a luxury spa, salon, shopping promenade, and a large events center.
Role Overview
The Steward in the Culinary Academy will be a vital part of the Kitchen Stewards team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout kitchen areas and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and store crockery, pots, and glassware properly after use.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize kitchen tools, ovens, stovetops, floors, and ceilings.
- Correctly handle and store cleaning agents to ensure safety.
- Remove kitchen waste and dispose of it according to protocols.
- Follow instructions from the Steward Team Leader and Supervisors diligently.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with colleagues, management, and contractors.
- Participate actively in departmental and cross-department meetings, sharing relevant updates.
- Foster team collaboration, encourage positive interactions, and support effective multicultural communication.
- Abide by company policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct at all times.
- Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards aligned with department guidelines.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines to minimize hazards and support continual improvement in workplace safety.
- Take part in recycling initiatives, helping to reduce waste through disciplined adherence to reuse and recycle practices.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum education: completed secondary school; additional academic qualifications are advantageous.
- No previous job experience required, though at least one year in a 5-star hotel or integrated resort environment is preferred.
- Understanding of proper cleaning chemical handling and storage.
- Exhibits a positive mindset along with a dedicated work ethic.
- Physically able to manage cleaning duties in high areas and lift heavy objects.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- A collaborative team member who performs well under pressure and responds promptly to dynamic work demands.
- Flexible to working various shifts as per operational needs.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
