Steel Trader - Ghana Market

Overview

Lead the growth of business development efforts throughout Ghana by targeting profitable opportunities within the steel industry, concentrating on products such as Hot Rolled Coil (HRC), Cold Rolled Coil (CRC), Galvanized Iron (GI), and Pre-Painted Galvanized Iron (PPGI).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire sales process from initial prospecting, providing technical advice, contract negotiations, to closure and long-term client relationship management.
• Conduct detailed analysis of Ghana's market trends, import regulations, competitor landscape, and regional demand to craft tailored sales approaches.
• Work closely with internal teams including Supply Chain, Logistics, and Finance to efficiently handle customs clearance and ensure smooth order delivery.
• Build and nurture strategic alliances with current customers while actively expanding the client base to surpass targeted sales goals.
• Represent the organization at primary Ghanaian trade fairs and industry groups to boost the company's profile.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in English as the working language.
• At least three years of demonstrated experience in international steel trading, specifically steel import and export.
• Strong negotiation skills, sharp commercial insight, and a well-established network within Ghana's steel market.
• Highly motivated, capable of working independently with resilience, willing to travel frequently within the region as needed.
