Job description
Job Overview
Provide expert-level technical support to design, develop, and maintain programming solutions that satisfy requirements from both internal teams and external clients. Oversee the full life cycle of statistical programming tasks as a key technical contributor within the Statistical Programming unit.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, execute, verify, and document code to generate clinical statistical tables, graphical representations, and data listings.
- Create analysis-ready datasets and handle data transfer tasks for stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough quality control and validation of clinical databases.
- Integrate and harmonize data from different studies or multiple sources.
- Maintain thorough documentation including programming plans and technical specifications.
- Serve as a seasoned technical resource, providing project solutions and guidance to internal teams and clients.
- Innovate and implement new programming methods, macros, applications, and validation processes.
- Lead single-study statistical programming projects under supervision, fulfilling team lead duties.
- Interpret project scopes, estimate workloads accurately, and oversee out-of-scope aspects for individual studies.
- Possibly oversee budget management, resource allocation, and forecasting for projects.
- May engage in budgeting and quoting processes.
- Mentor and train junior programmers and new hires.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with at least one year of relevant experience; or
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with at least two years' relevant experience; or
- Equivalent education and experience combination.
- Familiarity with statistical methods, programming, and clinical drug development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Base SAS, SAS/STAT, and SAS Macro programming.
- Strong organizational capabilities, interpersonal skills, leadership, and communication proficiency.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with precision and accuracy.
- Excellent detail orientation and reliability.
- Capable of maintaining productive professional relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
