Startup and Venture Partnerships Associate

Overview

Stripe provides financial infrastructure for companies globally, enabling businesses to accept payments, grow revenue, and create new opportunities. The Startup and Venture Partnerships team focuses on strengthening relationships with leading venture capital firms and accelerators to increase Stripe's impact among top startups.

Role Summary

This position combines relationship management, program operations, and ecosystem analysis. The associate will enhance Stripe's presence within key VC firms, manage programming and events, and derive insights from portfolio data.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior partner managers in deepening connections with major venture capital firms by engaging platform teams, portfolio services, junior partners, and operations stakeholders.
• Manage operational aspects of key partnerships including credit management, onboarding portfolio companies, and partner communications.
• Support senior team members with planning meetings, preparing briefing documents, and managing follow-ups.
• Collaborate with data science to monitor portfolio penetration, track credit usage, and conversion rates, then translate data into actionable team insights.
• Organize and execute events such as VC dinners, founder roundtables, workshops, hackathons, and showcases.
• Handle event logistics comprehensively—from venue selection and invitations to event execution and post-event activities.
• Create standardized playbooks for events, measure event results, and assist in producing team publications and tools.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum three years of experience in venture capital operations, startup partnerships, business development, or program management.
• Background working within or alongside VC firms, accelerators, or related startup ecosystems.
• Proven skills in project management, juggling multiple priorities and stakeholders efficiently.
• Strong communication abilities in both written and verbal forms.
• Comfortable leveraging data and metrics to drive decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in VC platform teams or portfolio services.
• Familiarity with Stripe’s offerings, notably Billing, Payments, and Connect.
• Background in event planning or B2B/ startup field marketing.
• Proficiency using Salesforce, Looker, or comparable CRM and analytics platforms.
• Established contacts within the venture ecosystem.
• Highly self-directed with ability to operate independently in ambiguous settings.

Work Environment

The role is primarily onsite with an expectation to spend at least half the work time in the local office or directly engaging users, with specific attendance criteria depending on team and location.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual US base salary ranges from $149,700 to $224,500. This figure may represent multiple levels and will be refined through the interview process based on qualifications and location. Applicants outside the US can inquire about local salary ranges during interviews. Additional compensation may include equity, bonuses, 401(k), health coverage, and wellness stipends.
