Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled biologist to join our research team focusing on neurotrauma and advanced imaging methodologies. This role is crucial for implementing experiments funded by the Department of Defense grant, applying expertise in molecular and cellular biology alongside state-of-the-art intravital microscopy.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out experimental procedures as per the Department of Defense funded project, ensuring precision and adherence to timelines.
- Engage in molecular and cellular biology experiments employing wet lab techniques and intravital microscopy imaging.
- Interpret experimental data critically and generate comprehensive reports and presentations to convey results effectively.
- Collaborate closely with a diverse team, including biologists, engineers, and imaging technology experts.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of all laboratory procedures and findings.
- Support the refinement and development of experimental methods and protocols.
- Adhere strictly to laboratory safety rules and compliance requirements.
- Stay informed on the latest scientific advances in molecular biology and neurotrauma research fields.
- Contribute actively to writing research findings for publication in scientific journals.
Required Qualifications
- SRA 1: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a closely related discipline.
- Practical hands-on experience in wet lab environments is strongly preferred, with proficiency in molecular and cell biology methodologies.
- Experience with intravital microscopy imaging enhances candidacy.
- Familiarity with neurotrauma research and bioengineering concepts is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the capacity to tackle complex data sets independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Capability to multitask and manage work autonomously.
- Competence in data analysis tools and scientific documentation.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and compliance protocols.
- Demonstrated passion for research and dedication to scientific excellence.
- SRA 2: In addition, candidates should have a BA/BS in a related science field with at least one year of direct, recent experience using relevant techniques or equivalent training and expertise.
