Job Overview

The Staff Nurse plays a vital role in coordinating and delivering nursing care within Radiology and Interventional Radiology outpatient procedures. Accountable for comprehensive patient care, education, and smooth care transitions, the nurse supports professional nursing practices aligned with organizational values and nursing regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct holistic patient assessments covering physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual aspects to identify health issues and risks, utilizing evidence-based tools and involving patient, family, and healthcare team in diagnosis validation.
• Formulate individualized, culturally sensitive care plans with measurable goals focused on health promotion, restoration, and maintenance. Plans are continuously revised based on patient response and documented with standardized terminology.
• Implement care plans by collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare teams using evidence-based interventions, administer medications following policies, and ensure accurate documentation of all care adjustments.
• Employ tailored teaching strategies to promote patient and family self-management and healthy lifestyles, documenting educational activities in patient records.
• Evaluate patient progress regarding care outcomes, reassessing needs, updating plans, providing thorough handovers, attending care rounds, and effectively communicating condition changes within the care team.
• Integrate current research and evidence-based nursing knowledge to enhance practice, participate in research and quality improvement initiatives, and share findings to foster clinical excellence.
• Demonstrate leadership by serving as a professional role model, coordinating delegated tasks, making critical care decisions, engaging in organizational decision-making, and supervising junior nursing staff and students to ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Uphold professional ethics, advocate for patient rights, report unsafe or unethical practices, adhere to nursing standards and guidelines, utilize electronic resources for clinical information and documentation, and promote environmental health and safety within the clinical setting.
• Commit to ongoing professional development, mentor nursing colleagues, and respond effectively to emergencies as per organizational protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience post-qualification in relevant healthcare settings (waived for graduates of UAE nursing institutions following internship).
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or a nursing diploma (minimum two years' duration) plus valid registration as a Registered Nurse from recognized countries (Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia) and current national nursing license.
• Mandatory Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred certifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), related to specialty area.
