About the Role
We offer a rewarding Band 5 Staff Nurse position at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, based in Manchester. This role involves working in our department 1 ground floor outpatient area and supporting our 'bloods closer to home' service. We seek dedicated, proactive, and compassionate registered or newly qualified nurses passionate about oncology care.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care both in hospital and through outreach services.
- Perform complex nursing procedures including venepuncture, cannulation, ECGs, and urgent care for emergency admissions.
- Supervise and support junior nursing staff in clinical tasks and patient care.
- Accurately document clinical observations and patient notes in line with standards.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic care environment.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments complying with hospital policies and NMC guidelines.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies in the outpatient setting, delivering lifesaving treatments as needed.
- Drive to outreach locations across Greater Manchester; maintain business insurance and possess a valid UK driving license.
Learning and Development
The Christie is dedicated to continuous staff development. Newly qualified nurses participate in a supportive preceptorship program with a designated mentor to assist during their first year. Qualified nurses receive a supernumerary period and ongoing guidance from senior team members to ensure a smooth integration.
