Job description

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Adhere strictly to established nursing practice standards.
  • Deliver nursing care requiring advanced and specialized skills.
  • Collaborate closely with residents' doctors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Continuously update on residents' condition changes and evolving needs.
  • Implement nursing care and interventions as detailed in individual care plans.
  • Assess residents' responses to treatments and recommend adjustments to care plans as required.
  • Coordinate with Allied Health professionals and initiate preventive or rehabilitative nursing actions.
  • Conduct and oversee assessments for new admissions.
  • Prepare and administer medications safely, following medication safety protocols.
  • Be accountable for the secure handling and custody of controlled drugs.
  • Engage in the training and development of care staff members.
  • Manage emergencies effectively, ensuring quick resolution and timely escalation to supervisors as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff to uphold a safe and hygienic environment within the nursing home.

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participate actively in quality assurance efforts to monitor and enhance the quality of nursing care provided.
  • Join scheduled quality audits carried out periodically.
  • Prepare staff rosters and daily assignments for ward or department.
  • Contribute to staff performance appraisals in conjunction with Nurse Manager.
  • Assume additional duties as allocated by Nurse Manager, Senior Nurse Manager, or Director of Nursing.

Requirements

  • Holder of a Bachelor’s or Diploma in Nursing or an equivalent qualification.
  • Must have a valid SNB (Singapore Nursing Board) Registration and Practical Certificate.
  • At least two years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
  • Completion of InterRAI Long-Term Care Facility (LTCF) Assessment training.
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
