Job description

Role Overview

This position involves leading the development, execution, and continuous enhancement of Methodist Welfare Services' Volunteer Management framework, processes, and centre compliance standards.

Key Duties

  • Drive the creation and ongoing refinement of Volunteer Management structures, procedures, and ensure centres adhere to compliance requirements.
  • Lead the design and implementation of overall volunteer management strategies and plans.
  • Collaborate with centers, churches, corporations, and educational institutions to provide input on volunteer programs and community outreach initiatives.
  • Support the creation of training materials and trainer development to sufficiently prepare volunteers for assigned roles.
  • Build and maintain volunteer relationships, fostering stronger and sustainable partnerships for the organization.
  • Manage the volunteer database, extracting actionable insights and recommendations from collected data.
  • Conduct frequent assessments of volunteer needs within the organization.
  • Coordinate volunteer communications and mobilization efforts aligned with organizational requirements on the ground.
  • Assist in developing recognition programs and events to appreciate volunteer contributions.
  • Expand the network of corporate volunteering partnerships.
  • Recognize publicity requirements for volunteer campaigns and assist in preparing promotional materials to raise awareness of volunteering opportunities and needs.
  • Oversee volunteer onboarding and engagement plans to nurture volunteer relationships.
  • Work with volunteer leads across MWS centers to standardize and adopt agreed-upon programs, standards, and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with volunteer management standard operating procedures and implement effective risk management strategies across all centers.
  • Contribute to fundraising efforts through planning and executing assigned donor campaigns.
  • Maintain regular collaboration and meetings with cross-center teams within the MWS network.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in project or event management, training, and programme development; for senior-level candidates, 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is expected.
  • Experience managing volunteers in the social service sector is a plus.
  • Excellent English writing and communication skills, with proficiency in a second language preferred.
  • Confidence and experience in public speaking and delivering presentations.
