Overview
The Royal Stoke Emergency Departments are currently undergoing dynamic and positive transformations. We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic, and innovative nurses to become part of our emergency care team. Our workforce strategy revolves around the delivery of safe, patient-centered care, alongside fostering leadership and development within the nursing staff.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be accountable for ongoing patient care and ensuring an effective care pathway for all patients within the department. The position includes day and night shifts on a rotating schedule across seven days, including weekends and public holidays. You will receive an initial supernumerary period plus dedicated training and preceptorship to help you integrate smoothly into the department.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as an Adult or Mental Health Nurse or expected to qualify by October 2025. Experience within acute hospital settings is essential, and prior exposure to emergency departments as students or bank staff is advantageous. The role demands flexibility to meet service requirements and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a busy, evolving environment. Strong communication skills are a must.
