Role Overview
As part of Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), the Staff Manufacturing Engineer will help advance the testing and manufacturing of server hardware. The role focuses on improving processes, introducing modern testing methods, and maintaining strong quality standards for enterprise solutions. It also involves working with cross-functional partners in a global setting to drive practical improvements and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine assembly workflows, including the creation, validation, and upkeep of fixtures, tooling, and process records.
- Support trial builds for new products, diagnose functional and structural concerns during pilot production, and document issues clearly.
- Act quickly to resolve production-line technical issues, using root cause analysis and putting corrective and preventive actions in place.
- Drive or assist continuous improvement efforts aimed at better efficiency, higher quality, and lower cost.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Product Development teams to ensure process requirements are implemented effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
- Background in server, PC, notebook, or consumer electronics assembly is preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly tolerance analysis.
- Ability to independently design fixtures.
- Hands-on proficiency with engineering design tools such as CAD and SolidWorks.
