Role Summary
As a Staff Engineer within the Trading Engineering team at FBG, you will engage deeply with innovative, real-time risk and trading systems central to Fanatics' vision. Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions within an event-driven system environment to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Investigate and resolve complex system challenges to optimize performance and scalability.
- Develop clean, modular, and testable code that aligns with high-quality standards and innovation goals.
- Support the product lifecycle through development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance to ensure platform stability.
- Communicate effectively within the team, participate actively in code reviews, and escalate issues when necessary to maintain code excellence.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, quantitative analysts, and engineering peers to deliver robust applications aligned with business objectives.
- Contribute to technical discussions on system design and planning, influencing the evolution of the product.
- Improve software quality by enhancing testability, gathering operational metrics, and maintaining thorough documentation.
- Develop a strong product-minded approach, gaining insight into industry trends, features, and roadmap.
- Engage in mentoring activities to foster knowledge exchange and team development.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical operational needs.
- Occasionally travel for special events or key offsite meetings to support collaboration.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- A minimum of eight years designing and deploying scalable, high-performance applications.
- Expertise in C# programming and experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Strong communication skills to simplify complex technical concepts for various audiences.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments requiring agile decision-making.
- A collaborative team player willing to contribute wherever necessary to achieve goals.
- Solid understanding of software design principles including SOLID, DRY, TDD, and BDD.
- A passion for software architecture and continuous knowledge sharing within collaborative teams.
- Interest in or familiarity with sports betting is a plus.
- Experience implementing Domain Driven Design (DDD) in software development.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions effectively.
- Proven experience partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Previous work in startup environments is advantageous.
- Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, team-centered setting.

Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position. Candidates based in Ireland or the UK can work fully remotely, though hybrid arrangements with on-campus presence two days per week are encouraged.
