Role Overview
The General Manager is responsible for strategically overseeing operational excellence, promotional activities, special events, fan engagement, team development, and profitability at their assigned retail location(s). This role involves coaching and managing employee performance while reporting directly to the Regional Director. The schedule includes rotating full-time shifts covering days, nights, weekends, extended hours on game days, and during special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic plans to drive operational excellence aligned with company objectives.
- Execute company initiatives by setting clear objectives and team priorities.
- Communicate store strategy to retail leadership, corporate partners, and team members to inform about business progress, operational efficiencies, product sales, and customer insights.
- Serve as the liaison for team member requests and coordinate with Fanatics business units as needed.
- Analyze performance metrics, daily operations, and profit and loss statements to spot opportunities and collaborate with store leadership to implement improvements.
- Adapt quickly to fast-paced, growing environments and lead change initiatives effectively.
- Ensure the delivery of exceptional fan experience upholding the highest standards.
- Integrate company values into daily operational planning and team management.
- Recruit, develop, and maintain a strong team culture focused on high performance and engagement.
- Identify internal talent and suggest succession plans to HR or Regional Director.
- Assign Manager on Duty responsibilities appropriately.
- Promote an inclusive work environment valuing diversity and leveraging differences to meet goals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred but equivalent experience accepted.
- At least five years of retail management experience, ideally in flagship or high-profile stores.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with collaborative influence.
- Strong ethical standards in professional and personal conduct.
- Experience managing both exempt and non-exempt personnel preferred.
- Advanced written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and retail POS systems.
- Ability to recognize business trends and work with cross-functional teams to develop strategic plans.
- In-depth understanding of the fan base to maximize market trends and customer needs.
- Versed in retail finance management, including P&L responsibility.
- Leadership in operational excellence and independent work adhering to company standards.
- Ability to provide clear guidance and support to employees while managing performance and delegating tasks effectively.
- Experience handling employee relations alongside human resources to ensure policy and legal compliance.
- Capability to foster an inclusive environment promoting development and constructive conflict resolution.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- On-site presence at the Orlando City location.
- Physical activities include regular sitting, standing, reaching, bending, and moving throughout the store.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds.
- Game day work may expose the individual to various outdoor weather conditions such as rain, wind, cold, and heat if stationed outside the shop area.
