About Webflow
Webflow offers a dynamic web marketing platform aimed at modern marketing teams, enabling organizations to create, manage, and enhance high-performing web experiences that foster predictable growth and reinforce brand credibility. The pace at Webflow is fast and demanding, emphasizing quality and craftsmanship in all output.
Role Overview
We seek a Staff Brand Designer who operates at the intersection of brand identity and web design. This individual will own the brand expression on Webflow’s primary marketing site — the key first impression for most users — and extend the brand presence across campaigns, conferences, video, and the product itself. This role requires working fluidly across mediums as lines between disciplines blur, employing AI and agentic tools to innovate and refine creative output. You will join Brand Studio, Webflow’s internal creative team, collaborating with brand designers, motion specialists, and marketing partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Design the Web as a primary brand surface by shaping user experience on webflow.com—not merely as a collection of pages but through careful pacing, narrative, and interaction design.
- Translate brand identity into web-native components, systems, and behaviors including typography, motion, and interactive states.
- Oversee the technical and design aspects of Webflow’s marketing site, including CMS architecture, component systems, publishing workflows, and performance maintenance.
- Ensure brand consistency across various platforms—campaigns, conferences, editorial, film, and product—to maintain coherence and adapt brand systems to each medium.
- Lead experimentation with AI-assisted design, generative coding, and agentic tools; develop prototypes that demonstrate design concepts and practical applications of new technology.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, legal, and events teams to deliver campaigns and product launches efficiently, while maintaining quality and accessibility standards.
- Mentor designers and marketing colleagues by offering feedback, sharing expertise, and building scalable systems.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Eight or more years blending brand design and web design or development with a portfolio demonstrating those skills.
- Proven experience designing marketing websites focusing on user journey, narrative, and interaction beyond single page layouts.
- Expertise in Webflow platform features including advanced CMS setups, components, interactions, and performance optimization.
- Experience with brand applications beyond websites, such as campaigns, events, motion graphics, and product branding.
- Active usage and proficiency with AI and agentic design tools in professional projects, including evaluation of their effectiveness.
- Comfort reading and adapting HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, without requiring professional coding credentials.
- A portfolio showcasing both high-level identity craftsmanship and complex, high-traffic sites with architectural depth.
Preferred Attributes
- Strong perspective on web experience as a seamless narrative, not isolated pages.
- Approach new technologies as tools for practical testing, distinguishing hype from utility.
- Ability to manage broad design responsibilities, from typography to CMS schema decisions.
- Interest in brand expression across diverse contexts like physical spaces and digital presentations.
- Desire for technical ownership and scaling impact through tooling and mentorship without formal management roles.
- Proactive adoption and experimentation of AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows and outcomes.
Core Values
- Build lasting customer trust with actions grounded in customer-first philosophy.
- Collaborate effectively to succeed as one unified team.
- Embrace innovation by imagining possibilities beyond incremental improvement.
- Deliver rapidly while maintaining exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
Benefits
- Equity participation (RSUs) in the privately-held company for all permanent employees.
- Comprehensive healthcare including medical, dental, and vision coverage with majority premiums paid by company.
- Generous family support with paid parental leave and inclusive care support for various family needs.
- Flexible paid time off including vacation, holidays, and sabbaticals for rejuvenation.
- Access to mental health resources, therapy, and coaching services.
- Retirement benefits with competitive employer match and global plans.
- Monthly stipends for work and wellness-related expenses tailored locally.
- Eligibility for annual company-wide bonus program.
Additional Information
- Position is remote-first based in the United States or specified Canadian provinces (BC & ON).
- Compensation is established according to geographic location with several salary zones ranging approximately from $143,300 to $195,000 (USD) for US candidates, and CAD $177,000 to $213,000 in Canada.
- Bonus target amounts vary based on role level and company performance.
- Applications are accepted continuously until the position is filled.
- Reporting line: Manager, Brand Studio.
- Employment is contingent on verified legal work authorization and background checks as per applicable law.
- Company is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion with accommodations provided upon request.
