Job Overview

We are actively seeking candidates who can join immediately or within 15 days for the position of Staff Accountant at our Bangalore office. The role, designated as Assistant Manager (3B), requires expertise in General Ledger Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, Month End closing, and Record-to-Report processes, with advanced proficiency in Excel and experience using Netsuite/Oracle Netsuite. Candidates should be flexible to work a general shift aligned with US business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly consolidation process by coordinating with accountants at international subsidiaries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including handling eliminations and foreign currency revaluation.
  • Review and upload reporting packages from local subsidiary accountants, reconcile inter-company balances and investment activities, and conduct analytical reviews.
  • Execute month-end close activities for select subsidiaries, such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyzing financial outcomes.
  • Maintain and update foreign currency rates, consolidated chart of accounts, and financial statement reports monthly and daily within Oracle.
  • Coordinate statutory audits and other reporting requirements for international subsidiaries, ensuring statutory financials align with US GAAP.
  • Support technical accounting matters, focusing on lease accounting per ASC 420 and forthcoming ASU 2016-02 standards.
  • Assist in preparing monthly consolidated financial statements and other periodic deliverables.
  • Contribute to quarterly GAAP financial reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain stock accounting schedules and reconciliations.
  • Develop schedules for quarterly reviews and annual audits and collaborate closely with external auditors.
  • Ensure all accounting transactions comply with US GAAP and company internal controls with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify potential issues proactively and implement improvements to accounting processes.
  • Help develop and uphold accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Undertake special projects and analyses as directed by management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CA, CA-Inter, CMA, CPA qualifications accepted.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in public accounting and 1 year in general, international, or consolidation accounting; experience with Big 4 firms preferred.
  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP principles.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Office applications.
  • Experience with Oracle software is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, with keen attention to detail and commitment to quality under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Proactive problem solver with assertiveness and creativity.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal capabilities.
