Job description
Overview
This position is based at HM Prison Standford Hill, Sheerness, ME12 4AA. It involves a non-operational role supporting the effective running of the prison shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operation of the establishment's shop, ensuring adherence to scheduled opening hours.
- Deduct purchases from prisoner accounts accurately.
- Manage stock levels, maintaining availability of a variety of items including those catering to ethnic needs.
- Check deliveries from suppliers for accuracy, addressing any discrepancies or damaged stock.
- Procure goods and services when required, ensuring compliance with financial and procurement policies.
- Perform cleaning duties to required standards using appropriate equipment like floor polishers and vacuums.
- Conduct stock-takes regularly, recording and reporting any discrepancies to the Finance Manager.
- Perform daily tool checks to comply with Local Security Strategy and National Security Framework.
- Complete related administrative tasks as requested.
- Ensure waste reduction practices are followed.
- Comply with Health & Safety, manual handling, and COSHH regulations, reporting hazards promptly.

Working Hours and Terms
The role involves a 37-hour work week with Additional Conditioned Hours Pensionable (ACHP) allowances for staff transitioning from a 39-hour pay structure. The additional 2 hours are pensionable and paid at the plain time rate.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £25,409 per annum, with an additional employer pension contribution of £7,360. Eligibility and Security
