Job description
Introduction
The Research Compliance Office at Texas A&M University System is looking for an SRS Research Administrator I to join the Sponsored Research Services team, which supports the research community by providing research administration services and facilitating the success of research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist faculty members in the preparation, review, and submission of research proposals following sponsor guidelines.
- Interpret sponsor requirements to ensure compliance with all federal regulations and university policies.
- Prepare budgets and verify their adherence to sponsor rules and university system policies.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to compile and finalize proposal materials within tight deadlines.
- Analyze and reconcile standard research project billings; prepare reports and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Serve as liaison among researchers, leadership, sponsors, and system members to resolve project and proposal issues.
- Create accounts and manage award deliverables in the award management system.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
- Preferred: degree in business administration or related fields and experience in pre-award sponsored research administration within university settings.
- Familiarity with Federal grant and contract regulations and practical application of research administration issues.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Adobe software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail, collaborative mindset, and ability to work effectively in a client-focused environment.
Work Environment & Compensation
The position offers a competitive annual salary of $50,000. While the offices are located in College Station, Texas, flexible arrangements including onsite, hybrid, or remote work will be considered individually.
