About the role

White Cap is seeking a senior leader to own the direction and performance of rental operations across multiple facilities. This role focuses on building a safe, efficient, scalable, and customer-centered operation that supports broader business goals. The position is part of an organization committed to being knowledgeable, capable, and dependable on every job.

What you will do

  • Set the strategic direction for rental operations across regional and multi-site teams.
  • Guide, coach, and manage a layered leadership group spanning operations, rental, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong day-to-day execution with a focus on safety, regulatory adherence, and company standards.
  • Improve performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer service metrics.
  • Own financial results, including budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and capital planning.
  • Define and implement enterprise-wide strategies for inventory optimization, fleet utilization, and capacity planning.
  • Lead standardization and process improvement efforts that create efficiency and consistency.
  • Work across functions and put KPI-based performance systems in place to strengthen accountability.

Scope of the role

  • Challenges are broad and complex, with solutions often requiring high-level analysis and investigation.
  • The position shapes strategy and operating methods and acts as a subject-matter authority on policies and practices.
  • Accountability may extend through multiple management layers and include enterprise-level budget responsibility or oversight across two or more businesses.

Work environment

  • This is primarily an indoor office-based role in a comfortable setting, with only occasional mild discomfort.
  • Most of the time is spent seated, with regular chances to move around.
  • Light lifting or carrying may be needed occasionally.
  • Overnight travel is expected about 20% to 50% of the time.

Education and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is typically required.
  • At least 9 years of related experience is generally expected.
  • Several of those years should include management or supervisory responsibility.

Preferred background

  • Experience leading multi-site operations in rental, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
  • Proven success managing large, layered teams across multiple geographic locations.
  • Strong track record of improving operations through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Background in P&L ownership and financial management.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement certification is preferred.
  • Strong commercial and financial judgment.
  • Advanced leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management capability.
  • Experience designing KPIs and performance management systems.

Compensation and additional information

For Ohio applicants, the posted pay range is $161,500 to $271,200 annually. Actual base pay may vary based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors.
