Job description
Role Overview
The Sports Partnerships Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, rollout, and continuous improvement of sports-focused partnerships with teams, leagues, events, and athletes. This position keeps partnership operations running smoothly, helps ensure sponsorship commitments are delivered, and contributes to broader partnership planning.
In this role, you will work across departments to help deliver strong activations, preserve partner relationships, and support sports marketing efforts that create measurable value for the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain regular communication with assigned partners and help keep relationships aligned and productive.
- Assist with the onboarding and integration of new sports partnership agreements.
- Support contract execution and monitor deliverables so all partnership obligations are completed on time.
- Act as a dependable contact for partner questions, needs, and follow-ups.
- Coordinate partnership activations such as game-day experiences, event programs, digital and social campaigns, content placements, and hospitality or experiential initiatives.
- Partner with internal teams including marketing, creative, legal, and events to deliver campaigns successfully.
- Ensure activations are delivered on schedule, within scope, and in line with brand expectations.
- Contribute ideas during partnership planning and brainstorming sessions.
- Share input on potential sponsorship opportunities and activation concepts.
- Research industry developments, competitor partnerships, and fan engagement approaches.
- Monitor partnership performance using metrics such as engagement, impressions, and ROI-related indicators.
- Help build recap reports, presentations, and insight summaries for internal stakeholders and partners.
- Look for ways to strengthen performance and increase partner value.
- Keep contracts, deliverables, timelines, and asset records organized and up to date.
- Track budgets, invoices, and partnership-related expenses.
- Confirm that all partnership commitments are completed according to agreement terms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Business, or a similar field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in sports partnerships, sponsorships, marketing, activations, or account management.
- Strong planning, coordination, and project management abilities.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage several projects at once in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience supporting sponsorship activations or event execution.
- Exposure to professional sports teams, leagues, or agencies.
- Working knowledge of marketing analytics and reporting tools.
- Strong interest in sports and understanding of the sports business landscape.
- Solid execution skills with strong follow-through.
- Ability to coordinate relationships without being the primary negotiator.
- Capability to manage timelines and cross-functional work effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational discipline.
- Comfort with basic data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple partnerships efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and highly organized.
- Must pass a drug test.
- Willingness to work a flexible full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays when needed.
- Ability to travel to various locations within the organization’s service areas as required.
