Job description
About the Role
Rangitoto College is looking for a motivated, organised administrator with a strong interest in youth sport to become part of its sports coordination team. The college offers more than 40 sporting options, aiming to help students test themselves, realise their abilities, and build healthy habits that last. The campus also features high-quality sporting infrastructure, including an Olympic-standard water-based hockey turf, three gymnasiums, a modern fitness centre, indoor cricket nets, and convenient access to the Millennium Institute athletics track.
Role Overview
This is a permanent, part-time position based on 28 hours each week, worked Monday through Friday, across 52 weeks of the year. You will work within a team of five Sports Coordinators, four of whom are full-time, and support a broad range of sports across the school.
Your portfolio will cover administration, coordination, and engagement with stakeholders for the sports assigned to you. The workload will include both lead and support duties.
A major part of the role involves department-wide events, including the annual Sports Awards, school sports days, exchange fixtures, and tournament administration.
Key Duties
- Plan yearly sport schedules and manage pre-season sign-ups, trials, musters, team registrations, and tournament arrangements.
- Set and monitor sport budgets, oversee collection of participation fees, and keep track of sports gear and uniform storage, maintenance, and distribution.
- Maintain accurate databases for students and coaches, and gather results, achievements, and photos for sharing through social media, the website, assemblies, and school publications.
- Develop positive working relationships with students, parents, Teachers in Charge, volunteer coaches, team managers, and local sporting organisations.
Candidate Profile
The school is seeking someone who takes initiative, works well in a team, and handles pressure confidently. The ideal person will be comfortable juggling competing priorities and solving problems thoughtfully.
Remuneration and Reporting
- Pay is aligned with the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement at Grade 4.
- The role reports to the Administration Manager - Sport and the Director of Sport.
Application Instructions
Applicants should provide an application and a covering letter that outlines relevant administrative experience as well as personal sporting interests and enthusiasm.
Closing Date
Applications close at 2:00 pm on Friday 3 July.
