The position also works closely with Global Account Managers (GAMs), Regional Account Managers (RAMs) and Financial Institution Account Managers (FAMs) to support coordinated delivery across the client portfolio.

What you will do

  • Support the Relationship Manager with account planning, briefing notes for senior discussions, and contributions to Regional Client Account Forums and Global Client Account Forums.
  • Attend client meetings when needed and ensure outcomes are captured in call reports within the bank’s client management system.
  • Review client profitability and look for opportunities to improve product and service usage.
  • Coordinate with the Implementation Management Office and Credit Analyst teams to support onboarding and ongoing credit monitoring.
  • Work with clients, relationship teams and product partners to resolve account maintenance issues and flag unusual utilisation patterns to the relevant coverage team.
  • Partner with Implementation Management Office, Credit, Legal, Compliance, Operations and Service teams to meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Ensure maintenance issues are closed quickly and escalate unresolved matters to the Client Manager Team Lead or Head of Client Management when required.
  • Coordinate with Financial Institution Account Managers to help identify and support network business opportunities.
  • Build a strong understanding of portfolio client needs and provide insights on market conditions and trends across the bank’s international network.
  • Support clients with account servicing, including loan drawdowns, complaint handling, issue resolution and escalations.
  • Guide clients on documentation needs, including credit documents and account monitoring requirements.
  • Manage the full documentation negotiation process for renewals, amendments and other existing-facility documentation, subject to the necessary approvals.
  • Liaise with Legal, Compliance, Credit, Implementation Management Office and clients on standard documentation, including terms and conditions, country-specific supplements, banking facility letters, master credit terms and supplementary letters.
  • Obtain approval for any exceptions to standard terms and conditions from the relevant authorised approvers.
  • Reduce documentation gaps, including items recorded as deferrals and waivers, and ensure open points are resolved promptly.
  • Follow through until documentation is complete and work with the Implementation Management Office’s Client Risk Centre to confirm credit limits are loaded correctly in transaction processing systems.
  • Monitor overdue balances and excess account positions daily and make sure they are regularised within timelines.
  • Ensure cash and cheque releases are completed on time.
  • Escalate exceptions to the Relationship Manager and Credit Analyst.
  • Act as an escalation point for unsettled FX past-due trades and failed trades, working closely with Operations.
  • Support loan drawdowns, cash management services, local treasury product trades within FI banking, and the release of trade finance products.
  • Attend ASTAR review meetings and other relevant forums, committees and business discussions as appropriate.
  • Lead or contribute to improvement projects aimed at enhancing processes, tools and the client experience.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including FATCA, credit rules, Banking Control Account overdue procedures and related controls.
  • Identify and escalate operational risks to the Client Manager Team Lead or Head of Client Management.
  • Recommend process changes that reduce risk or improve controls.
  • Work with Operations, Service Hub and Client Services teams to resolve operational issues and post-transaction queries.
  • Support the Relationship Manager in checking client account activity against expected business patterns.
  • Develop awareness of credit risk, including default risk and fraud risk.
  • Ensure AML and credit documentation meets CCIB standards.
  • Escalate operational risk concerns to the Head of Client Management, Client Manager Lead or Business Operational Risk Manager.
  • Help prepare client files for audits and regulatory reviews while maintaining adherence to bank policies and procedures.
  • Review the strength of governance, oversight and control arrangements and support enhancements where needed.
  • Stay current on the regulatory framework applicable to the role and contribute to effective governance.
  • Work constructively with regulators when necessary and challenge issues appropriately.
  • Act in line with the Group’s values, Code of Conduct, ethics standards and business conduct expectations.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and internal policies in both letter and spirit.
  • Escalate, mitigate and resolve conduct, compliance and risk matters in a collaborative manner.
