About the Role

Bristol Myers Squibb is hiring a full-time QC Microbiology Specialist to join the QC Microbiology Laboratory at BMS Cruiserath Biologics in County Dublin, Ireland. The role reports to the QC Microbiology Manager and supports Drug Substance and Drug Product site operations across environmental monitoring, utility sampling, biological indicator testing, media fills, UV and HPLC in-process testing, and sample handling.

This position operates on a 24/7 shift schedule.

What You Will Do

  • Carry out monitoring of cleanrooms, biosafety cabinets, and isolators for batch-related activities.
  • Sample utilities including water systems and compressed air/gas.
  • Perform in-process testing on critical lot samples to support manufacturing using HPLC and UV spectrophotometry.
  • Issue, receive, and test biological indicators.
  • Read, record, and communicate results from environmental monitoring, biological indicators, and aseptic qualification samples.
  • Support media fill reconciliation, inspection, and participation in APS runs.
  • Identify microorganisms recovered after testing activities.
  • Complete laboratory records accurately and on time.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and registered specifications at all times.
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing documents.
  • Support other teams so qualification and production timelines stay on track.
  • Review laboratory paperwork and reconcile completed analyses.
  • Investigate alert and action limit excursions in line with site procedures.
  • Receive and process drug substance and drug product samples.
  • Follow and help improve lean lab and 6S practices.
  • Maintain strong standards of housekeeping and laboratory safety.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Microbiology Manager.

What We Are Looking For

  • A Level 8 degree in Microbiology or a closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, healthcare, or related technical laboratory role.
  • Practical experience in a cleanroom setting using aseptic techniques.
  • Experience with isolators is an advantage.
  • Prior exposure to HPLC and UV spectrophotometry is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with MODA, Empower, CIMS, LIMS, LES, and Veeva Vault is helpful but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Comfort working collaboratively within a team-based environment.
