The specialist turns complex business needs, leadership ideas, and organizational initiatives into engaging, accessible, learner-centered digital modules for different employee groups.
Instructional design methods, adult learning theory, accessibility requirements, and LMS best practices are applied to ensure learning is scalable, effective, and easy to use.
The role partners with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and internal learning team members to define requirements, confirm objectives, and keep content accurate and relevant.
The specialist prioritizes work independently, resolves LMS and learner-experience issues, and recommends process or system improvements where needed.
They also track learner engagement, participant feedback, and effectiveness data to support ongoing optimization and stronger learning outcomes.
Administrative support may include training coordination, enrollments, reporting, communications, and LMS upkeep when needed.

This role works closely with the Director and Manager of Learning & Development and collaborates with the Sr. Specialist, E-Learning to support organizational learning efforts.
It also builds working relationships with People & Culture Business Partners and teams across the organization.
The specialist is expected to bring a strong commitment to race equity and weave equitable practices into learning design.
The role should reflect values connected to gender, racial, and reproductive justice, while also supporting ongoing professional growth in instructional design, digital learning tools, and workplace learning trends.
Delivery expectations
The specialist serves as the main course builder and content designer in 360Learning for asynchronous offerings.
They create, test, and publish e-learning experiences that are visually strong, accessible, and aligned to adult learning principles.
They convert subject matter into clear and engaging digital learning materials and build knowledge checks, assessments, and learner resources that reinforce key concepts.
They also update existing content, manage version control, and support regular content refresh cycles.
In collaboration with Culture and Equity staff, the specialist ensures the learning experience reflects the organization’s equity-centered values and “In This Together” ethos.
Design tools such as Canva and PowerPoint may be used to make learning materials polished and user-friendly.
Responsibilities also include maintaining enrollments, tracking completions, producing reports in 360Learning, coordinating cohorts, preparing materials, managing rosters, and supporting communications and scheduling.
The role may assist with audits of LMS content and learning catalogs to maintain accuracy and usability, and provide technical help for virtual meetings in Google Meet or Zoom as needed.
Other duties may be assigned as required.
