The Head of Admissions will lead the end-to-end admissions function for Canadian International School in Singapore. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Admissions, this role is responsible for attracting, admitting and retaining a diverse student cohort while delivering a smooth and welcoming experience to prospective families. It is a strategically important, sales-driven position that supports the school’s growth objectives.

Admissions strategy and planning

  • Partner with the Director of Marketing and Admissions to design and execute student recruitment and retention plans that align with the school’s mission and vision, and support leadership in the Singapore international school market.
  • Review market movements, competitor activity and demographic patterns to uncover recruitment opportunities across both international and local communities.
  • Strengthen the school’s visibility across digital and in-person channels during the admissions journey.

Admissions operations

  • Take ownership of each stage of admissions, from initial enquiry through applications, tours, interviews, assessments and final decisions.
  • Provide prompt, helpful communication to prospective families, answering questions and guiding them through the process.
  • Lead, coach and evaluate the admissions team, including training and performance management.
  • Keep applicant information accurate and current while ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

Relationship management and outreach

  • Build strong working relationships with prospective parents, agents and educational consultants.
  • Represent the school at fairs, forums and other external events to promote its programmes.
  • Organize campus tours, open houses and information sessions for prospective families.
  • Act as the main contact for newly admitted families and support their transition into the school community.
  • Lead the corporate programme and referral process.
  • Develop strong networks with internal stakeholders and with other international schools in Singapore.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop persuasive promotional content that showcases the school’s strengths and differentiators.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders so admissions policies remain aligned with educational goals and student needs.
  • Support school leadership in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion across admissions practices.

Reporting, data and analysis

  • Monitor and report on key admissions metrics such as application volumes, conversion performance and enrolment trends.
  • Provide senior leadership with regular updates on enrolment progress, competitor insights, challenges and opportunities.
  • Use data analysis to improve admissions strategies and guide future intake cycles.
  • Maintain a strong reporting framework to support forecasting, yield management and operational efficiency.

Financial coordination

  • Work with internal stakeholders on school fee planning, financial aid and scholarship processes.
  • Ensure admissions activity supports the school’s financial objectives and budget plans.

Qualifications and desired profile

A bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in admissions or a related area, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within an international or private school. Strong knowledge of international school admissions practices is important, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a professional yet approachable manner, strong relationship-building ability, high attention to detail, and proven team leadership. Experience using admissions CRM or database systems is expected. The role also calls for someone who can work independently, prioritize effectively and manage several responsibilities in a fast-moving environment.

Desirable qualities

Experience in international education is preferred. The school is looking for someone who can thrive in a varied, fast-evolving and dynamic setting, brings genuine commitment to student success, communicates exceptionally well in English, and can speak additional languages fluently as an advantage.
