Role overview
This part-time remote position supports HR administration and day-to-day operations for the Human Resources function at UNDP Kenya. It is an entry-level opportunity suited to someone who is organized, careful with confidential information, and comfortable working independently in a virtual environment.
What you will do
- Help keep HR files and records organized and up to date.
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and updating job descriptions.
- Support the rollout and day-to-day use of HR policies and procedures.
- Coordinate hiring activities, including interview scheduling and candidate communication.
- Assist with onboarding-related tasks and communication with new joiners and staff.
- Track employee information and help maintain accurate personnel data.
- Support employee relations processes while handling sensitive information discreetly.
- Prepare simple HR reports and basic documentation as needed.
What we are looking for
- Basic understanding of Human Resources and HR administration, with interest in HR operations.
- Awareness of HR policies and how they apply to recruitment, onboarding, and staff management.
- Ability to support employee relations work while maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.
- Background in job description writing or role profiling is a plus.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree completed or currently underway in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, plus close attention to detail.
- Good planning and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a part-time role.
- Comfort using common office tools such as MS Office or similar software; experience with HR systems or applicant tracking tools is advantageous.
