Role overview

This part-time remote position supports HR administration and day-to-day operations for the Human Resources function at UNDP Kenya. It is an entry-level opportunity suited to someone who is organized, careful with confidential information, and comfortable working independently in a virtual environment.

What you will do

  • Help keep HR files and records organized and up to date.
  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and updating job descriptions.
  • Support the rollout and day-to-day use of HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate hiring activities, including interview scheduling and candidate communication.
  • Assist with onboarding-related tasks and communication with new joiners and staff.
  • Track employee information and help maintain accurate personnel data.
  • Support employee relations processes while handling sensitive information discreetly.
  • Prepare simple HR reports and basic documentation as needed.

What we are looking for

  • Basic understanding of Human Resources and HR administration, with interest in HR operations.
  • Awareness of HR policies and how they apply to recruitment, onboarding, and staff management.
  • Ability to support employee relations work while maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.
  • Background in job description writing or role profiling is a plus.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree completed or currently underway in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, plus close attention to detail.
  • Good planning and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a part-time role.
  • Comfort using common office tools such as MS Office or similar software; experience with HR systems or applicant tracking tools is advantageous.
  • Alignment with UN values such as integrity, inclusion, respect for diversity, and gender equality.

This role is fully remote and requires strong self-management, prompt responsiveness, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse, multicultural team.
