Job description
Role overview
We are hiring a Specialist Hygiene Technician for the Birmingham branch to work across Birmingham and nearby areas. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable managing their own day and resolving unusual customer problems directly at client sites.
What the role involves
You will deliver a broad range of specialist cleaning services in different settings. The work can include biohazard decontamination, flood water cleanup, infection control support, police and prison cell cleaning, sharps removal, trauma and crime scene cleaning, and more technical tasks such as factory cleaning, high-level cleaning, and silo cleaning. Full training will be provided.
Working style
The position is reactive and varied, with priorities that may shift from week to week. You will also take part in an on-call rota, typically twice per quarter. In addition to carrying out the service, you may be asked to guide customers, maintain a professional image, and deliver strong customer service throughout.
Pay and benefits
The starting basic salary is £26,655 per year. Expected earnings are around £33,000 per year with bonus and commission opportunities. The package includes a company vehicle, fuel card, mobile phone, uniform, and access to RI Rewards. If you are relocating from more than 2 hours away, there may be support of up to £5,000 to help you settle in.
This is a full-time, permanent role based on a Monday to Friday schedule of 40 hours per week. There may be a future move to up to 48 hours per week, with pay adjusted accordingly. Overtime may also be available depending on customer needs.
The company offers training and development, with relevant industry qualifications potentially helping progression and pay grading. Additional benefits can include private healthcare participation, a pension scheme, discounts and cashback from more than 3,000 retailers, a leads commission scheme, 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme access for you, your family, and friends, long-service recognition that adds five days of annual leave after five years, and a Refer a Friend reward of up to £1,000.
