Role overview
We are hiring a Specialist Hygiene Technician for the Bristol branch, covering Plymouth, Exeter and nearby areas. This is a field-based position where you will manage your own day-to-day schedule and attend customers in person to solve a range of hygiene-related issues.
No previous experience is needed, as full industry training is provided. The role suits someone who is comfortable working independently, responding to changing priorities, and delivering practical support on site.
Pay and working pattern
- Starting salary: £26,655 per year.
- Expected total earnings: £30,000 to £38,000 per year, supported by bonus and commission arrangements.
- Employment is full-time and permanent.
- Standard working pattern is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
- There is a possibility of moving to a 48-hour week in future, along with a higher salary.
- Overtime may be available to help meet customer needs.
Key duties
You will carry out a variety of specialist hygiene services across different types of premises and environments. The work can include biohazard cleaning, flood water cleanup, infection control support, police and prison cell cleaning, sharps removal, trauma and crime scene cleaning, as well as more technical work such as factory cleaning, high-level cleaning and silo cleaning.
- Respond to jobs in a reactive, fast-moving environment where priorities may change frequently.
- Take part in an on-call rota, typically around twice per quarter.
- Give customers useful guidance and advice when needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and consistently high customer service standards.
Training and development

Requirements
- Full UK driving licence held for more than two years, with no more than six penalty points.
- Self-driven, dependable and proactive approach.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
- Flexibility to adapt working patterns as business needs change.
- Ability to work at height and in confined spaces.
- DBS clearance may be required depending on the assignment.
