Job description
Role overview
This position is responsible for overseeing both scheduled and unscheduled inspections of free zone companies involved in marine activities. The role works closely with an outsourced inspection team to help ensure operations across the free zone remain safe and compliant.
Key responsibilities
- Build the inspection schedule for free zone service and operational companies and make sure it is carried out as planned.
- Coordinate with the MAQTA gateway platform and the DED permit system, and support the issuance of no-objection certificates and operational permits.
- Assess the performance of the inspection team and confirm that inspected companies meet safety, security, and environmental standards.
- Maintain and review records related to violations and fine administration.
- Examine violation reports, inspection updates, company observations, and facility findings, then prepare corrective recommendations in line with department requirements and route them to the relevant authority after the department head approves them.
- Review KPI-related inspection reports and share recommendations with the department.
- Help build and maintain strong coordination with internal and external stakeholders so services are delivered to expected standards.
People management
- Oversee the day-to-day schedules of inspection specialists.
Strategic contribution
- Support improvements to inspection effectiveness and contribute ideas for strengthening the regulatory framework for companies.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, HSE, civil engineering, business management, or a similar field is required.
- Applicants should have a proven background in HSEQ or OSHAD-related functions and hands-on inspection experience.
- The role requires 5 to 6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in free zones or economic zones is needed.
- Arabic and English language skills are required.
